This weekend I realized SUMMER IS HERE! Maybe it was the fact that I was in Ft. Worth, TX for a wedding. An outdoor wedding at 6:00 p.m. in 102 degree heat. We had a great time visiting with all of the fabulous people that came from far and near to wish the bride and groom joy and happiness, but selfishly I had my own little bit of joy when 4 different people commented on my makeup and how fresh I looked in the heat. I think I owe it to this fabulous duo by Becca. SPF Mineral Primer that helped hold everything in place, and their new Mineral Powder.
For daytime, it gives you a nice, light and natural looking coverage. For evening I dusted it over my regular foundation and not only did it smooth everything out, but kept me looking fresh for hours without settling into pores, lines or smudging.
Imagine my surprise when going to the ladies room and all I had to do was add some fresh lipstick, and not the usual swiping up of the runny eyeliner, blotting, then reapplying powder. With only about 10 seconds effort I feel like I got professional looking results!

Holiday Wishes

This is the thing that you see when you are out shopping and think of all the people it is going to be great for, but have to get one for yourself too. LAFCO's new Avenue candle came out just in time for holidays. The luxe, soy based candles have a 90 hour burn time and the beautiful metallic rimmed glass can be reused when it has finished.

My newest obsession! I love scrubs, or I guess I should say I love the idea of a scrub, but soooo many seem to fail me. Too oily and not enough grit seem to be the biggest problems. You feel greasy, but not like you got a really good scrub, which is why I had resigned myself to the Supracor Mitt (still one of my all-time faves) until I got this jar of fabulousness. From The Bubble Roome, a great little company out of Brooklyn. All of their products are Vegan, paraben & sulfate free. They are scented with essential oils and come in the luscious scents of Grapefruit & Tangerine, Lavender & Geranium, and Spearmint & Eucalyptus. They have shea butter, AHA fruit acids, and brown sugar, so you feel fresh, clean, and with baby soft skin. I have a 3 1/2 month old, so this is something I know all about right now, and let me tell you with this scrub I am giving her a run. Best of all...a large tub is only $16 compared to most that are in the $30-$40 range. So, no need to save for only special occasions, this can be an everyday indulgence.

The old saying, "April Showers Bring May Flowers" might be true, but instead of sending your mom an arrangement that will be gone in a few days send her some flowers she can enjoy throughout the year. No, of course I don't mean fake flowers, I am talking about a fabulous fragrance.

Some of my favorites are from Ineke. Ineke is a classically-trained perfumer who creates beautiful, original scents in her independent studio in San Francisco. She studied perfumery at ISIPCA in Versailles, France (the only official school of perfumery), under the guidance of Yves de Chiris who also helped her train at Quest thereafter and with formidable mentors such as Dominique Ropion and Isabel Doyen.She apprenticed for three years at a fragrance house in Paris, making pilgrimages to Grasse, perfume capital of the world. Ineke finally decided to move to San Franciso, where she makes her luminous, modern fragrances. Each fabulous fragrance is consecutively named after a letter of the alphabet: A - After My Own Heart, with floral notes like lilac; B - Balmy Days and Sundays, a light, fresh green scent perfect for warmer days; C - Chemical Bonding, a citrus based scent; and E - Evening Edged in Gold, a sultry scent with amber notes. So, you are wondering about D...well that is Derring Do, a fresh clean scent for men.

Not only are each of Ineke's fragrances fabulous, but the bottles and boxes are works or art themselves. Each is a different color to go with the scent it holds and tells the "story" of the fragrance inside. Capped off with a Bakelite top, they are like works of art themselves.

Pasty skin no more!

So, the other day i put on a dress, had my makeup and hair done, fabulous shoes, cool clutch...the whole look. Then I noticed I had a lovely green tint to my skin. You know in the end stretch of winter when you are so pale you could be used as a traffic cone since surely you are reflecting light. Well, of course i hadn't thought ahead to use self tanner, but never fear I pulled out my trusy tub of WHIPPED DREAM and promptly looked like i had spent days lounging poolside sipping a mai tai. This light as air cream is labeled a "tan enhancer" but i think it is the perfect solution to the lack of a tan. I am absolutely in LOVE with ADARA's Virgin Coconut Oil! I have been really dry and itchy lately, especially with this crazy weather. Warm one day, freezing the next and either bone dry or wet...yuck! On top of it all I am pregnant so I really want to keep everything moisturized. I started using this a few months ago and liked it, but it has now grown into a full obsession. It makes me feel good inside too since these products are all manufactured under free trade guidelines. No underage workers and a hot meal for each during their shift.

A little in the bath is a dream, applied all over the body it absorbs well and leaves you feel hydrated, but not "slick". Eye makeup remover...check, deep treatment hair conditioner...check. I had heard fabulous things about Becca Cosmetics, but was thrilled to find that their "system" accomplishes the 3 most important things...it covers blemishes and imperfections, stays on all day, feels light as air, and due to the HUGE range of colors that match everyone, and I mean EVERYONE it looks natural! I am extremely particular about concealers and foundations, and Becca's are some of the best I have come across. I never thought I would find anything to make me put aside my beloved Cle de Peau, but I could happily substitute either the compact concealer or the stick foundation and at about half the price, it thrills me even more! Everything in this line from the primers to the eye shadows is divine. The glosses are a personal favorite. I held off on ordering these for the totally selfish reason that I don't like glosses that have to be applied with a finger. Marvis flavours are created by offsetting the aroma of mint. Jasmin Mint is the flavour pictured at left. There is also.......Ginger Mint, Aquatic Mint (light spearminty tone), Classic Strong Mint(altoidish), and a Whitening Mint. The Jasmin Mint, which is my personal favorite, tastes minty with a hint of jasmin tea essence.

They all leave your teeth feeling super clean and smooth for a very long time. The paste has a grittier texture than some, but not overly abrasive. Love it, and we have travel sizes too!

Hello fellow junkies. We have just introduced Model Co. to our ever-growing cast of cult products. Let me just say that I am not usually into self tanning products, my belief is that when you are pale.....you are pale and when you are dark.....you are dark. However, this line is winning me over. The Main product here would be the "Tan Airbrush in a Can", it has a beautiful bronze buildable shade and a built-in bronzer for instant gratification. The staff here is hooked and we sold out of our first run in days. No orange after-effect and just a hint of shimmer for a light-catching evening glow.

The second gem in this most fabulous line are the "Lip Lights" lip glosses. They have a side mirror on the clear tube and when you pull out the gloss wand, an LCD light comes on so you can apply in low lighting. Very gimmicky but very cool and the colors are sheer and pretty with just a dash of shimmer. The gloss is just sticky enough to last but you won't have to pick the flies out of your lips. My personal favorite is the coral shade.

Last but definitely not least is the "Star Smile" teeth whitening lip color pen. OK, follow me......on one end of this pen is a very effective whitening gel with an easy clickable applicator(think "Stila" lip gloss) and on the other end is a retractable lip color. The lip colors all have a blue hue in the pigment so that your teeth look even whiter-------genius! The lip colors contain an ingredient called Lipodermol® LS 8656 which is a conditioning and moisturising ingredient to combat dryness and protect and improve lip condition. All-in-all these are the top picks from this great line. Make sure to come in and ask me (Jason) to show you the line.

I constantly get dry, ragged cuticles and know I need to use something on them, but have neverlike the brush -on oil that ends up everywhere else, or the solid that you rub on. Hello All.......

Jason here, Entebello's own resident Makeup Artist/Product Junkie. I am here to talk about two of my favorite products. Numero uno is the super fantastic Steven Victor Miracle Serum. This little gem is one of the best makeup primers I have ever used and it was created as a moisture treatment/moisturizer. The serum goes on rich and has an oily slip to it, but absorbes into a smooth satin finish with remarkable line-filling benefits. No odor and you will stay satiny for hours. It can be dabbed-on over makeup for little moisture treatments throughout the day. It is a bit pricy at $150.00 for .05oz, but one drop slides over your entire face and the serum should last 6 months.

Okay, the second of my little babies here is the super-rich Dream Cream from Napoleon Perdis. This is a great primer for clients with very dry skin. It also doubles as a moisturiser and has a rich smooth texture similar to yogurt, more than vaseline, like some rich creams. As with the Steven Victor Miracle Serum, a little goes a long way. Stuffed full of light-diffuzers, antioxidants, and moisturizers it really is a "Dream Cream". At $95. for 1.7oz your paying for quality without breaking the bank. Peace, Jason

We had a hard time getting past the packaging. The purple cartoon on the box just doesn't say, "Rockin' Results" to me, but that is exactly what you get with all of DERMAdoctor's products.

I feel like St. Barth's

I am sooo ready for a beachy vacation, but it just isn't happening this winter. I do love to look like I just got back from St. Barth's though, and with the help of Carita's fabulous self-tanning creams I can look like I just got off my own private charter.

These creams are highly moisturizing, turn you the most fabulous golden shade of TAN, not orange, and don't have any of the gross smell.

If you aren't just dreaming of a pina colada in paradise, but actually going then Carita's Sun Care line is a must. Chapped Lips

One of my biggest woes of winter is chapped lips. It never fails that every year when the weather gets cool and dry I get a horrible case. No matter how much water I drink or what lip balm I use, it hurts to smile, eat, talk, or smooch.

Finally the search for a solution is over. I am obsessed with Nuxe Reve de Miele Honey Lip Balm. It is instantly soothing, feels fabulous, stays for hours, can be worn under a gloss or lipstick, and doesn't have that catch-22 of making the situation worse.

So, as the title suggests I am a first-time blogger, and this is my first posting!
